St. Agatha provides both a Kindergarten Extended Day and a Before/After-School care for students in grades 1-8.


Kindergarten Program

St. Agatha provides an enrichment program for St. Agatha and Upper Arlington families who need extended care for their child before and/or after kindergarten. The program is also available to students who are ready for an extended day in preparation for the transition to first grade. Children participate in a variety of enrichment activities including reading and math readiness, arts and crafts, science and social studies units, cooking, physical fitness, board games, and time for social interaction with their peers.


Before/After-School Care

The St. Agatha Child Care Program offers both before and after school care for students in grades K-8 from St. Agatha and the surrounding neighborhood schools. Our program is designed to provide a safe, fun and creative atmosphere where children can grow as individuals. Students are provided with a variety of opportunities for physical activities, arts and crafts, cooking, table games and special events. A room is available Monday through Thursday for homework. Our qualified staff understands the needs of children and promotes positive social interaction in a respectful, supportive way.


The child care program is open Monday through Friday and follows the St. Agatha School Calendar. Our hours are 7:30am to 6:00 pm. The kindergarten tuition includes attendance for any portion of the day. Big Kids can enroll for before-school care, after-school care, or both, if necessary.

Parents transport St. Agatha students unless they have made arrangements for their child to use a bus by a local school system. Morning Tremont Kindergarten students walk with a St. Agatha staff member from Tremont to child care at 11:05. Afternoon Tremont Kindergarten students are escorted by a St. Agatha staff member to meet Tremont patrol guards and walk to Tremont at 11:45. All Tremont students coming to child care at 3:00 are met by a St. Agatha staff member and walk to St. Agatha School. Wickliffe students are transported by the Upper Arlington bus service. Parents must make all other travel arrangements.

A nutritious snack is provided daily for the children in both programs. A snack schedule is posted in the classroom. Kindergarten students may bring a packed lunch or purchase a lunch in the school cafeteria. Lunches are ordered on Monday mornings.

A monthly newsletter is distributed highlighting activities and schedules. In addition to informal discussions, a parent conference may be scheduled at any time.


The St. Agatha Child Care Program is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education. Our lead teachers are college degreed and the entire staff meets the qualifications required by the State of Ohio. A person trained in first aid is on site at all times.

Enrollment for the program takes place annually during the month of February. Interested new students can call the child care office at any time. Registration papers can be mailed or picked up from the office.


St. Agatha also offers a Summer Camp program beginning one week after the end of school in June. The program includes field trips, swimming, arts and crafts and visits to the Upper Arlington library. Enrollment is open to St. Agatha Child Care students entering first through fifth grades.
