Saint Agatha School has been awarded the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award first in 1985, then again in 2000 and for a third time in 2015, making Saint Agatha the only Catholic School in the Columbus Diocese to have received the honor three times.
Saint Agatha Middle School is proud to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee in the regional finalist competition. The winner of the bee moves on to the National Spelling Bee.
The Geography Bee is an annual competition organized by the National Geographic Society, designed to inspire and reward students' curiosity about the world. Students in grades 5-8 compete in a school level bee that gives them the opportunity to take a qualifying test for the State Geography Bee.
Saint Agatha School has earned the Harold C. Shaw Outstanding School Award four times, most recently in 2015. This award is earned by schools that have at least four students entered and 80% earn “Superior” rating . We also earned the award in 1997, 1999, and 2004.
Saint Agatha School has earned the Central District Science Day School Award seven times, most recently in 2017. This award is earned by schools of which 80% of students receive a “Superior” rating. We also earned the award in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014.
Students conduct historical research that leads to imaginative exhibits, documentaries, original performances, websites and scholarly papers. NHD reinforces classroom teaching by rewarding students of all abilities for their scholarship, individual initiative and cooperative learning.
