PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Miss Lanasa is beginning her second year of teaching fourth and fifth grade language arts and religion at St. Agatha School. She graduated from Ohio University summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in English. After working as a journalist at community newspapers for nearly three years, Miss Lanasa decided to pursue a career in education. She completed a program at The Ohio State University to earn her Alternative Resident Educator License. Then, she began substitute teaching in the Diocese of Columbus in February 2023. As a product of Catholic education herself, Miss Lanasa is passionate about sharing her Catholic identity with the students and helping them grow in their faith journeys.
As a published writer, Miss Lanasa aims to help foster a love of literature and creative writing among her students. She is also dedicated to maintaining a safe, inclusive, inviting, and productive learning environment for all her students. Furthermore, it is important to her to build relationships with students and their families. She loves cheering on her class at sporting events.
Originally from Baltimore Maryland, Miss Lanasa relocated to Ohio in May 2021. This summer, she moved to Upper Arlington. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing golf, and visiting family and friends. She is also a member of St. Peter St. Joan of Arc Parish, where she participates in the Walking with Purpose Bible study program. In addition, she participates in a women’s small group through the Wellspring at St. Christopher Parish.
